He organized with the Workers Committee of Rockland County in the 1970s in upstate New York, as well as with a group of Haitian revolutionaries building a mass movement based among workers and peasants during the fall of Duvalier, plus other organizations in the US and Haiti.

Richard Slotkin is a cultural critic and historian. He is the Olin Professor of English and American Studies at Wesleyan University, and the author of eight books. His trilogy Regeneration Through Violence, The Fatal Environment, and Gunfighter Nation is, I believe, one of the most important pieces of cultural criticism around.
