whether it is through his medical work, or through his environmental
advocacy. He has worked to protect salmon, forests, bull trout, and so many
others. He has worked with the various indigenous peoples in his region
helping them to protect their land. He has worked on health issues
internationally. And most recently he has begun working on suicide
prevention among the young.
